Technology enthusiast and Linux fan

Hi, my name is Mario Kukucov. I spent the last 9 (almost 10) years of my life supporting and administering windows systems and networks. I am now a Linux proponent and evangelist and die hard fan. As any other Linux user, I am aware of several shortcomings of my favorite OS. Unfortunately these are not technological flaws that would require hacking to fix, they are arbitrary dictates of the IT market tied to the install base of the operating system. The solution I came up with is to simply do whatever is possible to promote Linux. Most people wouldn't reasonably argue about Linux as e server, the server battle has been won. The mobile market is also in a sense dominated by Linux in theory, but in practice I wouldn't say Android is Linux. The desktop unfortunately is a different story, Linux is nowhere to be seen. Big game development companies are ignoring the platform, companies like Adobe, Autodesk and Corel are guilty of the same thing. To remedy that we need to ensure that Linux is as firmly placed in the desktop world as Mac and Windows. So this is where we come in, we the enthusiasts and the geeks, the developers and administrators, promote Linux to ensure that everybody knows what we know. Linux is better!
