Mike McCarthy

Mike McCarthy is a 53 year old cartoonist, filmmaker, and musician from Mississippi.

McCarthy's pop art is influenced by comic books, rock and roll, and cult movies created from 1935 to 1977 (the lifespan of Elvis Presley in the American century). McCarthy (like Elvis) is from Tupelo and made his way to Memphis to attend art school in 1984. Since then he has made 8 features, drawn over a dozen comic books, played in 4 bands, and created two non-profits toward the historic preservation of Memphis. He lives with his wife Kim, and two children Hanna and John, in Memphis, TN.
