<p>Hello!</p> <p><br />I am an independent designer and researcher interested in engaging diverse communities in meaningful projects and inspiring creativity and collaboration through the design process.</p> <p>I love the outdoors, whether its long hikes through Canada's beautiful National Parks or travelling to remote locations across the planet. I am conscious of the impact tourism has on the local people and environment and I do what I can to contribute in a positive way while I explore the beauty of these environments.</p> <p><br />I graduated with a Bachelor of Design from Ryerson University wanting to use the skills and knowledge I gained towards social good. As a graduate student at York University I explored design-based-learning. While collaborating with teachers in elementary and secondary schools I learned a great deal about inspiring and empowering children and youth through the design process. I earned my Master of Design for the research I contributed to this field. Currently, I am involved in projects that promote community engagement through design.</p> <p>I am very excited to be given the opportunity to contribute to the <a class="notranslate name bold pink" href="../../projects/173971">Postcards from Utila</a> film.</p> <p>Please support the campaign!</p> <p>Thanks, Monika</p>
