Making theatre at home

I was born and raised in Niagara. I am a theatre maker, an actor, and a playwright. In 2010 I was awarded the YWCA'a Woman of Distiction in the Arts and Culture catagory. Recently, I was the recipient of an OAC Chalmers award in Professional Development. A part-time instructor of acting at Niagara College and the founder of The Essential Collective Theatre I have become an avocate to emerging Niagara theatre professionals.

When I am teaching, I aspire to be like my previous favourite acting teachers:

They aren't in it for the money, they love what they do

They celebrate the students success, they encourage

They listen, they understand

They treat everyone as an individual

They don't have favourites

They are consistent and knowledgable

They are also actors and have experience

The work is sacred, the teacher is human

For further information please review the theatre company website at www.ectheatre.ca
