In October 8th, 2009, I arrived into the United States from Nepal. I grew up in the refugee camps, and choose resettlement as a way to freedom and a home. Since coming here, my expectations have been diminished with the "Streets Are Paved In Gold", to now realizing that to live in the United States it is hard and complex. That there are many systems in place that appear to be broken, And one of those systems is how we deal with the homeless population in Rochester, New York.
