<p><strong>OUR MISSION&nbsp;</strong><br /><br /><span data-scayt_word="NAMAC" data-scaytid="1">NAMAC</span>&nbsp;fosters and fortifies the culture and business of independent media arts.&nbsp; Through&nbsp;<span data-scayt_word="dialogue" data-scaytid="2">dialogue</span>, collaboration, research and advocacy, we connect, organize and develop organizations.</p> <p><strong>OUR STORY</strong><br /><br /><span data-scayt_word="NAMAC" data-scaytid="5">NAMAC</span>&nbsp;was founded in 1980 by an eclectic group of media arts organization leaders who realized they could strengthen their social and cultural impact by working as a united force. Their idea was as bold as it was simple: to create a national organization that would provide support services to its institutional members, and advocate for the field as a whole. Since its founding,&nbsp;<span data-scayt_word="NAMAC" data-scaytid="6">NAMAC</span>&nbsp;has worked to raise the profile and influence of the media arts on behalf of its growing and changing membership.<br /><br /><strong>WHO WE ARE</strong><br /><br /><span data-scayt_word="NAMAC" data-scaytid="9">NAMAC</span>&nbsp;serves our membership by:</p> <ul> <li>Conducting research and analysis</li> <li>Convening the field</li> <li>Offering leadership training</li> <li>Advocating on behalf of our field</li> </ul> <p>Our members offer a wide range of services in support of the independent media arts, including production, exhibition, distribution, education, research, preservation and archive development, and telecommunications and cultural policy advocacy.<br /><br /><span data-scayt_word="NAMAC" data-scaytid="11">NAMAC</span>&nbsp;members include community-based media production centers and facilities, university-based programs, museums, media presenters and exhibitors, film festivals, distributors, film archives, youth media programs, community access television, digital arts and online groups, and policy-related centers.
