Maveu Napteu: Queen of Fixing Things

Tara Smith fell in love with sustainable development & service work during her 2 years as a Peace Corps Volunteer. After the success of many community projects in 2009, including the Kentaja Orphanage Water Well Project, she was honored with a title, Maveu Napteu, which means "Queen of Fixing Things". Upon completion of service, she founded Peace Tree Africa, a 501 (c) (3) Nonprofit that addresses issues of development and poverty in West Africa and remains involved in causes near to her heart.
