I am a writer, cultural commentator, advocate for trans women’s rights, contributing editor at Marie Claire, and the author of the New York Times bestseller Redefining Realness. I write about pop culture, gender, race and representation. My work has been recognized by the Sylvia Rivera Law Project, the Anti-Violence Project, and Planned Parenthood, and I serve on the board of the Arcus Foundation and founded the social media space, #GirlsLikeUs.
