<p>Maitreya is a New-York-based stylist/style-consultant, photographer, dancer, and installation artist.</p> <p>She gathers style inspiration from life&rsquo;s intricacies and translates them into wearable creations.&nbsp; Her movement/dance, visual art, and collaboration experience are focused significantly around site-specific work, and the creation of art as ritual - a practice she has been doing her whole life, and has developed greatly over the past few years.</p> <p>She lives with her boyfriend in Brooklyn, at the meeting of Bedford-Stuyvesant, Clinton Hill, and Crown Heights, a neighborhood that never ceases to inspire her style and art creativity with its integrated diversity and gentleness - a rarity in NYC!</p> <p>She recently concluded&nbsp; <em>N o t&nbsp; A n&nbsp; I s l a n d</em>, a dance/installation piece for the FIGMENT NYC arts festival, and she is currently working on a new piece, excerpts of which will be shown at an upcoming show to benefit Maitreya&rsquo;s study at the University of Limerick, Ireland, in the fall.</p> <p>For more information about the benefit show, or to contact Maitreya re: style-consulting/wardrobe assistance, or arts collaborations, please email her at <strong><a href="mailto:embodyingsacredworld@gmail.com" target="_blank">embodyingsacredworld@gmail.com</a></strong></p>
