Giselle Portenier

West Vancouver, Canada

A film about the most courageous girls in the world who are running away from female genital mutilation and child marriage.

I’m a two-time Peabody award-winning journalist and filmmaker who is passionate about human rights, especially the human rights of children and women. I firmly believe in the power of the media to influence society; many of the films I’ve made over the years have not only changed minds and hearts, but changed laws as well. I hope this film too will be a catalyst for change by being a contribution in the battle against FGM. For more information see: www.Inthenameofyourdaughterfilm.com
