<p><strong>Sarah Ping Nie Jones,</strong> born to and Indonesian Chinese mother and British father,<strong> </strong>was whisked away from London at the age of six months, to be raised in Kenya, Indonesia, and Botswana. Since 2006, Sarah has lived and worked in Cape Town, as a filmmaker, producing flims for NGOs, festival audiences and TV. Her films explore the personal stories behind larger social currents of migration, racism, and transnationalism. Umbilical Cords is her first broadcast-length documentary.</p>
