Born and raised in Virginia, I stepped off of a Greyhound bus at New York City's Port Authority terminal on August 23, 2010, jobless and without concrete living arrangements. Armed with my passion for creative writing, I hurled myself into the independent film capital of the world in pursuit of a career in filmmaking. A year after my exodus to the Empire State I was accepted into the Graduate Film program at New York University.
