A Doctor and Filmmaker

I write, produce and direct feature films. I graduated from medical school at the age of 26. I was appointed the Resident Physician at a Hospital Burn Unit in the Pakistan countryside. I saw that many of my burn patients had tragically set fire to themselves to avoid punishment by hostile in-laws, a common practice for non-childbearing women or wives with low dowry. I wanted to do something about it. I came to USA to pursue my dream of film making and tell stories of human compassion.
