<p>Thom Dancy began dancing at STEPS NYC under the tutelage of Cindy Vallone, moving shortly after to study at The University of Oklahoma (OU), where he studied under Mary-Margaret Holt, Steve Brule, Donn Edwards, and Austin Hartel. He has been accepted to summer programs at the Joffrey Ballet School, Joffrey Midwest, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, and on exchange at the National Ballet of China in Guanzhou.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Thom began his performing career two years ago as a member of Milwuakee Ballet's Studio Company. Since this honor he has performed works by Michael Pink, Victor Ramirez, Salvator Aiello, Dominic Walsh, Roland Petit, and Rolando Yanes. Thom has also performed with the Milwaukee-based contemporary company Your Mother Dances, expanding his horizons in works by Elizabeth Johnson and Luc Vanier.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>As a choreographer, Thom's first piece, 'Convictions in D,' was the only ballet undergraduate work to be chosen for OU's 2010 Young Choreographer's Showcase. Since moving to MIlwaukee he has set work on Milwaukee Ballet II, The Milwaukee Ballet School, and on DManagement Dance's summer intensive in Chicago. His work has also been seen at Danceworks Milwaukee and as a part of ArtMilwaukee's 'Art Jamboree.' He is currently represented by the prestigious DManagement International Dance Agency as a choreographer, his name being listed alongside that of Michael Pink and Avi Scher. This summer his work will be seen at the Boston International Ballet Competition.</p>
