<p>I'm a writer, performer, educator, and activist living in Oakland, California. I teach English at Bay Area community colleges. I have lived in California (and the Bay Area) since 2002. I went to college in New York (Vassar). The rest was following my parents around while they changed jobs in academia. I have now lived longer in California than any other place.</p> <p>I have a cat named Sharkey.</p> <p>I am a big Joss Whedon fan (creator of Buffy, Angel, Firefly, Serenity, etc.).
