<p><span><span>Join us for three weeks of theater, dance, music, visual art & crafts, empowerment workshops, lectures, demonstrations, and symposiums inspired by women.</span></span></p> <p><span>When DIVAfest first started, its goal was to provide women with a place to show new plays and theater work, in a world that still seemed to be dominated by male playwrights and masculine perspectives. Eleven years later, the festival is becoming a platform to launch women into new worlds of female leadership. We now embrace and host many different art forms. DIVAfest aims to raise consciousness in women by exploring ways to wield female power. Female power was a lost art, a stolen and sold art. It is a sexual and creative power – and it is ours to share and protect. We are perfectly poised to move with the surge of the female power initiative: the sensual, sublime, political and spiritual Third Wave of Feminism.</span></p>
