<p>Born and raised in the eclectic city of San Francisco, Galen has worked in a variety of fields from education to sustainable design to politics. After receiving his bachelors degree from UC Davis in 1999, Galen spent a year working as an Americorps member followed by a travel sabbatical in Central America.&nbsp; During his travels, he studied Spanish, volunteered in Managua, and worked on sustainable permaculture farms.&nbsp; Upon his return to San Francisco, he entered the education sector where he worked as a Special Education teacher and Teacher Naturalist.&nbsp; In 2005, he moved to Barcelona to teach English, continue his study of Spanish and engage in a number of startup businesses including Balling on a Budget Bike tours, which he successfully managed for two years.</p> <p>He has been working as Vice President of Nautical Torque Technology for the past 4 years, and has been responsible for strategic planning, grant writing and developing the business plan.&nbsp; With extensive travel experience and a firm grasp of the clean tech sector, Galen is well situated to help move Nautical Torque towards commercialization.&nbsp;</p>
