Sonia's creative projects are often quirky, visually stimulating and explore various elements of gender identity and empowerment. She was awarded the “WIFT-T's Most innovative Film by a Female Director (2009)” and “Best Up-and-Coming Toronto Film or Video Maker" by the Inside Out Film Festival (2011). Sonia continues her work in the film industry as a director, production designer, and videographer. She consistently confronts and challenges social ideals in her work.
