Founded by Deogratias "Deo" Niyizonkiza (whose story is told in Tracy Kidders bestseller, Strength in What Remains), Village Health Works provides quality, compassionate health care in a dignified environment, while treating the root causes and social determinants of illness, disease, violence, and neglect. We work with the communities we serve to improve health care delivery, education, agriculture, economic and community development, and to leverage their human resources to be self-sufficient.
