Activist Academic Who Understands the Power of Creativity and Love

I am Professor at Fielding Graduate University in Santa Barbara and Professor Emerita at San Francisco State University. Primary areas of research and activism are gender, militarism, armed conflict, and feminist research, focusing specifically on violence against women. Received my doctorate from Harvard School of Ed. Was a founding member of Combahee River Collective, who articulated a theory of intersectionality in A Black Feminist Statement in the late-1970s. Am convinced of power of love.
