My name is Nurit and I’m a Classical music composer and a music Prof. at Stanford Continuing Studies, Stanford University. Teaching and composing are my passions. I write for solo instruments to small os large ensembles and orchestral symphonies. I’ve had my works performed worldwide by leading players, conductors and orchestras and it’s a LOT of fun. I’m also passionate about sharing my love of Classical music with others, so I love to teach music theory and composition, as well as how to listen to Classical music. As a 3rd generation of Holocaust survivors myself, I’ve become very involved in the topic of music during the Holocaust. I travel nationally and Internationally to perform live concerts of music that was composed and performed in the camps. I have also exhibited artwork by survivors that were created postwar and which express the survivors personal experience during the Holocaust. I’m devoted to capture the stories of music and survival by the remaining survivors worldwide before they are no longer with us.
