But you certainly will. Through the years she has opened for great contemporary acts such as, "The Civil Wars, Beth Hart, Daniel Bedingfield and Carney.</div><div><br></div><div>Here's a little look at her journey. Adjoa began theatre at age two, vocal session work at age seven, and in her youth competed in many music competitions in voice, flute and piano. Upon graduating high school, went to work in East, South and West Africa for nearly 2 years. &nbsp;It was in Ghana, West Africa that she was given the name Adjoa (“Monday Born”) where she helped pioneer a school of music and worship, teaching voice, keys, flute &amp; basic music theory. Afterward Skinner attended Belhaven College where she studied classical voice &amp; theatre. She placed in various vocal competitions from classical *NATS (National Assoc. of Teacher's of Singing), to R&amp;B and Jazz, (Radio Station THE BEAT’s “Got Vocals” competition) as well as achieved the highest score of any category in the SoCal Music Finals Competition in 2008 when she won best female artist.</div><div><br></div><div>On Christmas 2009 Adjoa was chosen to sing in front of 30,000 people on Orchard Road in Singapore City, Singapore.</div><div><br></div><div>After crafting a live show performing her original works on voice, piano, guitar and percussion, Skinner was asked to be the opening act for Spider Man The Musical's own Peter Parker (Reeve Carney) and his band "Carney". She kept that slot for 4 months before hosting a Music Showcase for 3 months that was sponsored by ASCAP and Adrenaline Music.&nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>Adjoa has worked with Grammy Award winning producer Charlie Peacock and received a grant for her work as a Sapere Artist with the angel investment group, The Wedgwood Circle. It was at Wedgwood’s Annual Investment Showcase that Adjoa was honored to be interviewed on a panel by Charlie Peacock and Gospel Singer Kirk Franklin. She was also asked later that year to be on panel at the Boston Court Theatre in Pasadena, CA in 2010 to speak about multi-cultural relations and the arts. In November 2011, Adjoa was invited to perform an artistic response of poetry and song after the lecture of Philosopher, Artist &amp; founder of the International Arts Movement - Makoto Fujimura at the Annual Brehm Center Lectures where she was a featured performing artist.</div><div><br></div><div>In October 2011 A Special Performance of the song "Morning Mood" (Peer Gynt Suite No. 1, op. 46) was given for the King, Queen and Prime Minister of Norway in the Norwegian National Opera House in Oslo. Vocalist Torstein Soedal commissioned Adjoa to write the lyrics for this famous song by Edvard Grieg.&nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>Her current projects include the completion of her "Songs for Tall Women" Album, touring and scoring for a documentary film about "Salvation Mountain".</div><div><br></div><div>Her love of music and dedication to her craft, have made her a sought after performer, session vocalist and song-writer. She currently writes, produces, records, performs and teaches in North Hollywood, CA, soon to be touring this Winter 2011/2012.&nbsp;</div></div><div><br></div>
