In addition to being institutionalized within academia, Tamura Lomax is also the co-founder and visionary for The Feminist Wire. She is deeply interested in the space of public intellectualism between academia and the public sphere, specifically as it relates to the role of online publishing in “mediating” feminisms—that is, provoking questions about how new media can raise consciousness, effect feminist change on the ground, and change the terms of what “counts” as academic work.
