A couple of years ago I was diagnosed with cancer and swore when I got out of the "joint" (hospital) I would always follow up on writing and directing short films; my first film <em>Almost Grown</em> went to the American Black film festival in Miami and received honorable mention.My short film Chemo: A Love Story went to the Hoboken International Film festival and was a finalist in the Avant-Garde Arts festival and took home the Audience pick award.</span></p>
