Reality, as generally perceived, is something that the rational mind can comprehend. It is a state in accordance with certain rules; scientific, moral, social, etc. And because everything we see, feel and experience, is so driven by rules – a world created by the adult mind – it starts verging on the mundane.<o:p></o:p></p> <p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p> <p class="MsoNormal">Children, in general, have a substantial space in their minds, which knows very little boundaries. This has a lot to do with their newness in this world. No sooner than they are able to read and write, they are handed stories that are supposed to teach them morals of life, but instead some of us take to the imaginative world they are glistened with.<o:p></o:p></p> <p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p> <p class="MsoNormal">For many of us, that was a simpler life, a time when miracles were taken for granted – if only in our heads – a time when our worries (no matter what kind) <span style="mso-spacerun:yes"> </span>never crossed the realm of the playground or the classroom. Even the complexities, the trials and tribulations of growing up never escaped the thought of fantasy. To me those came in the shape of secret hiding places, imaginary friends, animals who could be friends and could talk and even Alice in Wonderland.<o:p></o:p></p> <p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p> <p class="MsoNormal">Challenging the notion of reality comes to me with the obvious romanticism that I associate with looking back at the purest self, the child. In a way, such romanticism is also a rebellion against this modern world we live in, where spiraling acts of destruction are commonplace and where such perversion as the popular culture, exists.<o:p></o:p></p> <p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p> <span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Cambria;mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-fareast-font-family:"ＭＳ明朝";mso-fareast-theme-font:minor-fareast; mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin;mso-bidi-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-theme-font:minor-bidi;mso-ansi-language:EN-US;mso-fareast-language: EN-US;mso-bidi-language:AR-SA">It’s time to get inspired by the surreal and ambiguous whimsy of daydreams. Somewhat uncertain about what he wanted to do, and quite uninformed at the tender age of 17, he enrolled in a fashion college in Bangalore, India. Midway through university, a short module sparked a keen interest  in photography and purchasing his first film camera was the defining point in Vikram's career.</i></font></div><div><font class="Apple-style-span" face="Cambria" size="3"><i><br></i></font></div><div><font class="Apple-style-span" face="Cambria" size="3"><i>With natural visualisation powers, imaginative perspectives and eager to learn the nuances of the photography industry, Vikram then moved on to assist an established photographer in Bombay before pursuing formal education in contemporary photography, doing a post graduate photography practice course in the quaint and hilly town of Ooty in South of India. Soon after, Vikram moved to London to develop his fashion and fine art photography practice via a postgraduate diploma at London College of Communication and a Masters Degree in photography at University for the Creative Arts, Rochester. The decision to move to London was informed by Britain's rich art and cultural heritage, the capital's international fashion scene and a keen desire on Vikram's part to establish himself as an internationally acclaimed photographer.</i></font></div><div><font class="Apple-style-span" face="Cambria" size="3"><i><br></i></font></div><div><font class="Apple-style-span" face="Cambria" size="3"><i>Vikram now splits his time between his home in the bustling city of London where he works on commissions for fashion houses, designers and magazines, and the enchanted woods of Kent where he travels for his imaginative photographic expeditions.</i></font></div></div>
