I am a philosopher and historian of science. I have worked mostly in the history of philosophy and am writing a book with a target audience wider than my fellow academics. The story of the discovery of cancer viruses and oncogenes is one of the most interesting episodes in the history of molecular biology involving several Nobel laureates and eventually leading to vaccines for some forms of cancer. I want to share this story with a well-researched popular book.
