<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;color:black">Beginning in the early seventies with his appearance in the <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:city w:st="on">Los Angeles</st1:city></st1:place> production of Tom Eyen’s <u>The Dirtiest Show In Town</u>, Michael Kearns has been a significant figure in the world of art and politics. The actor-writer-director-producer-teacher established himself as a mainstream actor (<u>The Waltons</u>, <u>Murder She Wrote</u>, <u>Cheers</u>, <u>Body Double</u>, <u>Beverly Hills 90210</u>, <u>And The Band Played On</u>) while immersing in the worldwide theatre scene. He has achieved international acclaim as a solo performer (<u>intimacies</u>, <u>Rock</u>, <u>attachments</u>, <u>Tell Tale Kisses</u>, <u>Make Love Not War</u>, <u>Once Upon a Time in <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">South Africa</st1:place></st1:country-region>)</u>. As an award-winning actor, his theatrical resume includes a national tour of <u>Dream Man</u> as well as dozens of <st1:city w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Los Angeles</st1:place></st1:city> appearances. <st1:place w:st="on">Kearns</st1:place> has written more than a dozen produced plays (<u>Myron</u>, <u>Robert’s Memorial</u>, <u>Barriers</u>, <u>Blessings</u>, and <u>Who’s Afraid of Edward Albee?</u> among them); he also co-wrote the screenplay of <u>Nine Lives</u>, based on his play, <u>complications</u>. The author of seven theatre books, published by Heinemann, he is currently reinventing himself as an older character actor: in addition to playing the title role in <u>James Warwick</u>, he recently completed lead roles in the indies, <u>The Perfect Gentleman</u> and <u>Absolution</u>. Along with Gary Grossman, Tony Abatemarco and Susan Krebs, he is one of the cofounders of INKubator and has recently been made co-Artistic Director of Katselas Theatre Company (with Grossman and Abatemarco).<o:p></o:p></span></p>
