Photographer Victor  Salvo was born and raised in the Boston area, attended Northfield Mt. Hermon, Bates College (where he studied American Literature and American History), and the New England School of Photography. Interest in the fisheries started when he worked as a mate on a party fishing boat out of Kennebunk, Maine in the late 1980’s. From there he found the most basic of jobs from picking apples to helping manage the fields and animals of a New Hampshire B&B, The Inn at Valley Farms. He has been a ski lift operator in Vermont, a dishwasher in Texas, an exhibit installer at the Museum of Science in Boston and a photographer for the Cape Codder newspaper. Swung a hammer in Seattle. Additionally, he was a mate aboard on Cape Cod to Florida sailboat delivery and after refurbishing a 1954 54’ long Chesapeake Deadrise in Punta Gorda he was aboard her, too, as she made her way up to Maine. Splitting his time between Naples and the North, he has enjoyed chasing politics, this past November in Portland, Maine looking at the Elliot Cutler campaign, and photographing whatever beauty this great nation can dish up. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>    Clients and collectors include The Sun Magazine, Harvard University, the international paper company Storo Enso, Brigitte Freed, wife of noted Magnum photographer Lenny Freed, Teese Gohl, musical producer/composer of scores including Across the Universe,Frida, and The Red Violin, Joseph DiLorenzo, COO at Plymouth Rock Studios and former CFO of the Boston Celtics and Boston Bruins, and Neil Pappalardo, Chairman and CEO of MEDITECH, a leading supplier of information systems for hospitals worldwide.<o:p></o:p>       Exhibits and Awards include the Ernest Haas Awards Top One Hundred list, Graphis Photo Annual, Menemsha Gallery, Fuller Museum, Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection, 29 Newbury Street, Creative Photographic Art Center of Maine, New England School of Photography, BioLabs, Art Complex Museum, Newport Art Museum, Lake Placid Center for the Arts, Centerville Historical Society Museum, Thorne-Sagendorph Gallery, Miller Art Center, The VAULT, Chaffee Art Center, In-Sight Photography Project, the Vermont Center for Photography, Stone Church Arts, and the Naples Regional Library.         <o:p></o:p>
