Since making the film Refugee, about returning to Cambodia to meet my father and brother, I've worked on projects produced through my associations with the Vietnamese Youth Development Center, New American Media and the Center for Asian American Media—which has earned me a reputation within the youth and ethnic media sectors. Now in my mid-30s, I am undertaking Wounds We Carry as a culminating project through which I will establish myself as an independent documentary filmmaker.
