Homespun Owner
Owner, Bri Land, has been a stay-at-home mom since graduating from college. After a whirlwind romance with a Navy pilot, she ended up in Sicily shortly after getting married. She was also pregnant with her first baby girl four months after saying “I do!” She spent a lot of time exploring the little Sicilian towns along the Mediterranean coast and at the foot of Mount Etna, as well as traveling Europe with her guy and gal. After three adventurous years in Sicily, the family moved to Austin, Texas. Bri was also pregnant with her second baby girl. There she worked part-time from home for an e-commerce company and founded her own part-time personal chef business. Realizing that she liked entrepreneurship and running a business more than cooking in a strange person’s kitchen alone all day, she ended that venture and focused on raising her two beautiful girls. A career change brought the Land family to Houston, Bri’s hometown. Her husband, Kelly, is now out of the Navy and working in the “civilian” world. They live in a charming little bungalow in Woodland Heights, with a studio space in the back that is perfect for Homespun: Houston Homemade. Bri is a self-described wannabe crafter (a jack of all trades, master of none!). She thought, “why not leave the cool crafts to the professionals and open up a shop for them?” Both of her baby girls will be in elementary school next year, so now is the perfect time to start something new. And so Homespun begins.
