<p>Hello! &nbsp;My name is Lisa Dean, and I am working my tailfeathers off to obtain funding to develop and grow The Second Hand Parrot Sanctuary, Inc. &nbsp;I am the Director and the Founder of Second Hand Parrots. &nbsp;I hold a Bachelor of Science in Community and Human Services from SUNY Empire State, and am nearly finished with a dual Master's degree in Public Administration and Management from the University of Phoenix. &nbsp;I see a strong need for a place for parrots (and other birds) to be able to exit the rescue merry-go-round and finally understand what it means to come home. &nbsp;I also see a strong need for exotic birds to be able to be birds, free and flying, enjoying their longevity in health and happiness. &nbsp;I want to be able to meet the needs of the public for increasing education in how to care for parrots and other birds in captivity so that, hopefully, it is not necessary for parrots to be relinquished to us. &nbsp;I hold my certification as an Aviculturalist from the American Federation of Aviculture. &nbsp;I have amassed a huge collection of resources that benefit not only me and the flock for whom I care, but will benefit the public in my endeavors to help them give the highest quality of life to their pet parrots. &nbsp;I have found a love with what I am doing, and I would be so incredibly grateful if you would help me achieve my dream!</p>
