<p>My name is August Johnson. I was born and raised in Idaho, USA, a graduate of Boise State University with a degree in Finance. I am currently working as a licensed commercial real estate appraiser. My job does not lend itself to much creativity so I diversify myself with custom art projects and entrepreneurial adventures in my spare time.</p> <p>I have been designing and creating for more than 15 years. Prior to working on this project, I spent more than a decade working in the field custom furniture and modern art. As a self-taught welder and designer, my continually evolving artistic abilities have resulted in a variety of unique furniture concepts and custom art pieces over the years. In addition to right brain operations, I have worked nearly ten years as a commercial real estate appraiser analyzing a wide array of property types in Boise, Idaho and surrounding areas. Prior to that, I worked for three years as an equities trader at a small hedge fund. My diverse background and skill set has allowed me to develop an eye for design, value, and business opportunity. With these skills in hand I came up with a simple product concept that would solve an array of challenges when taking self-photographs and videos with a smartphone.</p> <p>I enjoy a variety of outdoor activities such as snowboarding, golf, fishing, and all that Idaho has to offer. I try to stay active, getting to the gym, playing a little tennis, and sipping beers on a patio somewhere. My friends tell me that drinking beers on the patio does not make me an avid outdoorsman.</p> <p>Starting a new business and creating consumer products has been very challenging, but rewarding in so many way. I am continually stepping out of my comfort zone in attempts to keep life interesting. I'm lucky to live in Boise with a variety of skilled people around me to help bring these products to life and assist me on this journey.</p>
