<p>Melissa Ferlaak began her musical career by joining avant garde metal band (though sometimes called Symphonic or Operatic), Aesma Daeva in 2001. She played gigs in Mexico, the US and Canada with Aesma Daeva and recorded three albums, Eros of Frigid Beauty, The New Athens Ethos, and Ex Libris. She left the band in 2005, but before leaving, the group shot a live DVD of her final concert called Last Rites. <br /> <br /> Melissa joined Napalm Records Austrian band, Visions of Atlantis in 2005. With VoA, she toured Europe, China and North America. She also recorded Trinity, the band's third album. She left VoA in 2007 to pursue other life choices. <br /> <br /> In 2010, she joined Minneapolis band, Echoterra. With them she recorded the EP In Your Eyes and full album Land of the Midnight Sun. The band shot a beautiful video for the song After the Rain. She left in 2012 due to creative and personal differences. <br /> <br /> Throughout her career, she has sprinkled in guest appearances with other bands such as Withering Soul, Beto Vazquez Infinity, Rising Dream, Adyta and Voidwork to name a few.<br /> <br /> She has also performed classically with such companies as Theater Latte Da, Coro!, Thursday Musical and the Schubert Club. <br /> <br /> She holds a Bachelor's degree in Music from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls and a Master's degree in Vocal Performance from New England Conservatory in Boston, MA. <br /> <br /> She is also a PROUD founding member of Eve's Apple and is currently working on new music with Will Maravelas, Chris Quinn and Aaron Lanik! </p>
