Mothra is an instrumental post metal band from Auckland NZ formed in 2008, made up of Hugh Allan (guitars, samples) James Armstrong (drums) Reuben Saffer (bass) and Shaun Leyden (video). Mothra blend elements of post metal, sludge, math metal, and psychedelic/progressive rock into their sound, often finding their own sonic territory, but not shy in nodding to the obvious bands that helped pave the way.
