Nanny Extraordinaire

I've been working with children for over half my lifetime, since I wasn't more than a child myself actually. &nbsp; As a little girl, I was always seen holding a babydoll (while wearing red patent leather shoes, of course). &nbsp; At 10 years old, my little sister was born, and for a brief time I was "Mama" to her as well as our mother. &nbsp; At age 11, my neighbor had a baby and I started, almost immediately afterwards, as a mother's helper. &nbsp; At 12, I was sitting on my own for a 2 year old and an infant and haven't stopped sitting since. &nbsp; This wasn't my plan, but the babies find me wherever I go. &nbsp; After my move to San Francisco, and a brief attempt at a 'real' job (one that pays for health insurance), I again began babysitting, which quickly turned into full blown nannying, with more families in need than I, myself, could handle. &nbsp; How did I go from one family to thirteen-plus in less than 6 months? &nbsp;Word of mouth. &nbsp;Mommies want to know who their fellow mommy friends use, because they trust their choices. &nbsp;Likewise, if I had to turn down a babysitting date, the parent who requested it would ask if I had any friends I'd recommend. &nbsp;I spent quite a bit of time coordinating jobs for friends and knew there was a way to make it more efficient for all parties. &nbsp;the Sitter Spot was an idea I had had for a while, but manifested after meeting Michael. &nbsp;I had found a need, had an idea on how to fulfill it, but little experience with developing a business. &nbsp; The latter just so happens to be Michael's forte, and he is someone always looking to get in on the next successful business. &nbsp;<div><br></div><div>I've gone off track and my 'about me' turned into 'about Sitter Spot'...</div><div>Conclusion- I love helping families and working with children. &nbsp;Other loves- yoga, art, dancing, picnics...</div>
