My struggle with homelessness inspired social justice and environmental land use advocacy.

I have over 20 years of environmental and social justice organizing experience. Through my own housing struggles I learned tactics to access land resources as well as the legal processes necessary to fight evictions. I used these lessons to create land infrastructure for movement building which I have continued through Land Action which I founded in 2011. The urban microfarming campaign is built from the ground up from hard lessons learned on the streets of Oakland.
