The beginning to an effective lost pet alert system.

I'm using indiegogo to raise enough money to send out an "amber alert" for my missing cat. I recently had surgery and had to move to recover, I brought him with me. You don't know me, you don't know my cat, and you'll most likely never meet him, but he's a miracle cat in every sense.

He was found at the age of 7, busted up and street savvy. Despite that, he awed everyone at the shelter I worked at, his eyes were indicative of intelligence, thought, wonder, and wisdom. I took him home the day he went up for adoption.

I've had him for nearly 5 years now, he's been my pride and joy. He loved me when no one else did. He lyed with me in filth during my heroin addiction, and kept me company when I was homeless. He escaped the building I'm staying in, recovering from a major operation, at the beginning of August. He left microchipped, neutered, collared, and tagged. He's escaped before, and he's needy for people. I often have been calling me telling me he's enjoying himself on their porch. I pick him up.

Because I am still recovering from surgery, I an unable to work, and the state assistance program for cash only allows it to families with children now. They lost my paperwork before the law changed at the beginning of August.

If he goes to far, he finds the nearest house and protests until I'm called. This hasn't happened, which leads me to believe he's wandered much too far, lost his collar, or has been stolen because of his unique demeanor.

I set the goal at a package that will call every listed number and leave a message describing my cat and my contact information to 5,000 phone numbers. That's a 2 mile radius. The next step up is 10,000 phone numbers, nearly a 5 mile radius, covering several towns in the area.

If I meet my 495 goal by september, any additional funding will go to a start up to donate post card services and/or phone alert services for free to those who need it in helping find their lost pet. If I am unable to complete the projected funding needed through investors, any extra funding will go to an animal rescue of my choice. Most likely a small and local one that recieves little donations.

If by september I reach 875, I will take the opportunity to call 10,000 numbers.

This is a long shot, but my chest aches, daily, I won't leave the house, I cry hysterically for him. I can't convey my pain. It's changed my life. Whether he's found or not, I'm determined to start a non-profit, affordable system to locate pets and reach people more effectively.

To everyone who took the time to read, thank you, give me hope.
