No Defeat, No Surrender

I spent the first part of my life in the US Navy and then working at hospitals, nursing homes, and finally in a pathology laboratory. When I left the US in 2009, it was to pursue a new life with new goals.

A series of unfortunate events and family acrimony resulted in the loss of my life's savings that had been earmarked to begin a new business. The past three years have seen me teaching English and writing. The income from teaching has been meager at best and my book sales have been dismal.

I have seen, in the three years living in Jordan, that coffee is the life blood that brings people together. It is the central character in all gatherings. I want to open a coffee shop where I can not only earn a living, but bring people together for fun, relaxation and above all, friendship.

My years of working with the public coupled with my youth and early life in retail grocery sales will stand good for me as I begin this new venture. I fully expect to see great crowds nightly as people come for a reasonably priced coffee, perhaps some sweets and arghileh.

Please join me on this quest for the perfect cup of coffee!
