Angelus Morningstar

Sydney, Australia

Author and Activist

Angelus is a man of many hats, and in his free time he is deeply passionate about games, stories, and how they influence our lives. His love of gaming goes back more than half his life, beginning in 1986 when he was introduced to Sierra’s King’s Quest III. Since then he has expanded into role-playing (and has written a book on one), board gaming, and video gaming. In many respects, Angelus’ taste reflect those of the notorious Yahtzee, also of Australian fame, in sharing a keen desire to see games governed by narrative, character, and interaction.

Outside of gaming, Angelus is an activist, academic, and politician. He is currently undertaking a Masters of Public Policy at the University of Sydney and serves as the President of the postgraduate association at that university. He has been the chair and organiser of a Sydney-based human rights conference on LGBTIQ issues, with many international speakers in 2012, won a silver medal in martial arts for the 2002 Gay Games, and is otherwise known for his public speaking and engagement on these issuses. Gaming is what he does to unwind from some of these challenging engagements.

Credits:

Design: Author and Developer for Eidolon, an independent original work.
Design: Contributing Author for Alien Tech, as part of RedBrick's licences for Fading Suns RPG.
Critic: Primary review of i0S board games for iPadBoardGames.org
