My Mission

Mother Teresa, founder of the Missionaries of Charity, was once approached by a woman who came from far away to serve the poorest of the poor in Calcutta, India. Mother Teresa’s response was, “Find your own Calcutta.”

After days of deliberation, conversation and intense prayer, my wife and I have made the decision to become completely integrated with our Church as Teachers for the San Juan Diego Academy, a Catholic school for immigrant children in the diocese of Grand Rapids, MI. While it was very difficult to leave my colleagues, God has cleared a path for my wife and I to help make a difference in the latino youth that we love with unrelenting faith. Having served as missionaries to Latin America, our hearts are in missions, and through this one we have found our own “Calcutta”.
