Women of the Mountains Birth Center is dedicated to the development of a freestanding birth center serving Nothern NH and Northeastern VT. The Birthing Center will not only be a place for women to give birth outside of the hospital, but a place for women to support each other and receive services for birth and beyond. Be believe in the model of health and empowerment through self-care and community for women and their families.

The Women of the Mountains Birth Center will be located in the heart of the White Mountains in Littleton, NH. The center will be a safe distance to the homebirth-friendly hospital at Littleton Regional Hospital and close to the Vermont border for those who desire it.

This area does not provide a lot of options for women, with some hospitals even closing their maternity wards. The closest out of hospital birth center is 85+ miles away. Also, this area has low economic standing with about 80% of the clients who would be using the birth center on medicaid in both NH and VT.

The birth center will the an educational and support tool for the community of women in the North Country. We hope to have breastfeeding support classes, childbirth education, holistic moms networks, and other resources for women & families, and provide affordable well-woman care.

The $2,500 we are trying to raise will go towards helping us acquire a non-profit status. After this has been acheived we will go on to raise the funds for the physical birth center, as well as seek grants.
