Wild Heart Dance is a contemporary dance company created by Kat Gurley and is based in the front range of Colorado. The ensemble includes Hallie Bauernschmidt, Mimi Ferrie, Amanda Leise, Tara Rynders and Mollie Wolf.Wild Heart uses dance and physical transformation as the sole vehicle for performance. Their varied experiences and backgrounds are rooted in a passion for and love of dance. For the intangible beauty and the unspoken truths, they remain true to the source: that the body contains the answers, sensations and the ability to set the mind free. This ensemble was created in November 2012 and is in its second season of performing.
Wild Heart Dance is currently working on its next performance, which is to be premiered in August 2014, and on its new video project, which was filmed in April 2014. The new performance, titled "My Mother's Demon and My Father's Burden," delves into the recognition of one's demons and the larger shadows they cast. Through this recognition and embodiment, the shadows are given the opportunity to come home or in a broader sense laid to rest
Funding a professional show is costly for a small dance company: costumes, lighting design, advertising, promotional video, space rental, etc. We are asking $3,600 to cover the bare essentials to enable the work to happen.
We are grateful for any contribution you are willing to give. If you are unable to send money or attend the show, send your good intentions our way! We would love for you to be a part of Wild Heart in any way you can.
Wild Heart Performs on August 29th and 30th at 7:30 p.m. at The Dairy Center for the Arts in the Performance Space, 2590 Walnut Street Boulder, CO 80302.
