KLRU-TV, Austin PBS, producer of web original series BBQ with Franklin and What’s That, Buzz? have partnered with Austin based The Intergalactic Nemesis to bring the popular live-action graphic novel Book One: Target Earth to the web.
We’re raising funds to record the production in front of a live audience and create a web series totally unlike anything else. We imagine an action packed 15 episode season comprised of high-energy, creatively edited episodes 5-7 min in length, each ending in a dramatic cliffhanger. We will take the stage production and re-imagine it for the internet.
This special production will continue the work we've done on What's That, Buzz?, a web series featuring sound effects and Foley magic with Buzz Moran. It will also help bring The Intergalactic Nemesis' totally amazing production to folks who don't have the opportunity or means to see it in a theater.
Book One: Target Earth is a theatrical performance in the style of a radio drama. With amazing visuals! And sound effects! And music! And most importantly- a live audience.
We need $25,000 to fund the performance and post-production costs
This campaign will directly support the artists, actors, crew and creators involved
For the first time ever, DVDs of The Intergalactic Nemisis Book One: Target Earth and Book will be made available
Supporters of this campaign will have an exclusive opportunity for tickets to a performance of Book One: Target Earth in KLRU's studio 6A. This is currently the only scheduled performance of Book One: Target Earth in Austin during 2014. But wait there's more!
Arts organizations UNITE!
Supporting this campaign means you’re supporting the partnership of two non-profit arts organizations, KLRU and The Intergalactic Nemesis. KLRU is the producer of several web and broadcast series highlighting the arts and artists of Austin. Currently, The Intergalactic Nemesis is in the midst of a multi-year international tour that's featured performances at the New Victory Theatre on Broadway, a sold-out run at the Kennedy Center, appearances on CONAN and NPR's "All Things Considered", and more than 100 other venues from Hawaii to the UK.
Another great arts organization is also helping pitch in...PBS! PBS is going to match up to $20,000 of what we raise in this campaign which means your donation will go twice as far. Funds donated to this campaign will go exclusively to the costs incurred during the performance and post-production of the series.
Other Ways You Can Help
Even if you can't contribute monetarily, you can still help our campaign. Share the word via Twitter, Facebook, email, sky writing. Tell your friends, tell your enemies! The more people talk about what we’re trying to do, the closer we can get to our goal. Every little bit helps.
From all of us at KLRU and The Intergalactic Nemesis, THANK YOU for helping to make this happen!
