The Rwanda Education Assistance Project (REAP) program I am most passionate about is the girls program. Here are some reasons why this program has claimed my heart and why I think it is worthy of your attention:
When our daughters are educated, they are able to rise above things that we know could otherwise trap her in poverty. She doesn't get pregnant too early in life. She doesn't suffer a lack of opportunity. She keeps her dignity. She doesn't become trapped by early marriage or having to raise children while she is just a child herself. Help me create a new generation of female leaders.
Our efforts will sponsor the health program for 1,500 girls, fostering knowledge about the reproductive system and helping them nurture the critical thinking skills necessary to make good decisions.
We can make a difference for these young women. Girls everywhere deserve the opportunity to grow and learn in an environment that is safe and healthy. Visit the REAP site to learn
more about how they've changed the narrative for girls growing up after
the horrific genocide that ripped this community apart 20 years ago.
REAP has already made major strides in making the dream for universal access to education a reality for thousands of Rwandan students, by implementing unique programs such as a Cow Program that combats malnourishment and ensures that students receive daily milk and other nutrients.
Join my campaign to continue to empower our girls to reach the same potential as your own daughters. My personal goal is to raise $6,000 which will provide these services to 1,500 girls in this program for a full year.
Share my campaign page with your friends and family and give the gift that will change lives.
