Applied Mechanics is a theatre company based in Philadelphia.
We make plays that you can walk through, whole worlds for audience to explore with multiple intersecting storylines for them to choose how to watch. Inspired by the actions of feminist group Pussy Riot, we have embarked on a new artistic project that vibrantly engages the current political moment. We have been researching feminism, performance art, women’s movements, and punk rock. We have been transforming this research into a set of interlocking stories about artists, activists, scholars, anddreamers that will comprise our new show We Are Bandits.
We believe that theater is, at its core, inclusive; our work celebrates community, generosity, and the diverse citizenship of the world.
We Are Bandits will take these values even further: in the spirit of radical generosity, which embraces all citizens, it will have FREE ADMISSION.
WE WANT ART TO BE FREE.
Help us make this happen.
A donation is like buying a ticket for THE WHOLE CITY.
