A father and daughter must work together if they are to survive the frigid cold, a lack of food, shelter, and supplies, and ravenous zombies hunting them.

Who am I?

Hello, my name is Cole Meyer and I am the writer, producer, and director of "Watch Over Me", a dramatic and exciting new zombie survivalist short film. A little about myself: I am an award-winning screenwriter as well as one of my films won Best Cinematography at the Minneapolis 24 Hour Film Race 2012. My filmography mostly consists of shorts but one day I hope to make a feature-film.

I've always been passionate about the arts and ever since I was little I knew filmmaking and screenwriting was in my blood. Now, as an adult, and making my dreams come true, this project, I feel, is everything I've been leading up to in my career.

Why Should You Back This Campaign?

Why I feel you should back this campaign is because the story is less about zombies and more about repairing a relationship between father and daughter. (We are making this film for the Minneapolis Z-Fest Film Festival V competition for January.)

If you help us with this campaign, I hate to sound cliched, but I will be immensely happy. Everyone involved with this film is extremely enthusiastic about making the film and we have a lot of talented individuals who have experience in acting in horror films as well as the post-apocalyptic genre.

All I need is to raise enough to pay for prosthetics and makeup, food and gas, as well as meeting hourly rates for my cast, crew, and makeup artists. All these things cost an exponential amount of money and to not be able to meet our marked goal of $500 would greatly hurt the quality of this film and what I know it could and can be.

In the start of the film, he barely acknowledges her or cracks a smile, or even says a word to her.

After the tragic death of his wife, he is confronted with the impossible task that he must protect her and keep them both alive. Faced with the harsh reality that things aren't going to get better and that he might not be around to watch over her much longer, he goes to great distances to teach her how to shoot, trap food, and most of all grow up. She teaches him how to love and care for something again.

With a sizable cast of extras (zombies) and five speaking parts along with a crew (planning to shoot 3-4 days), the cost for this film is great, but with your humble donations, not only will I be able to make the movie I want to make, but you will make this film the best it can and ever will be.

Any way you can graciously make an impact in this production will benefit us extraordinarily.  With your help, I promise you you'll like the finished project. It has mixtures of Playstation 3's "The Last of Us", Cormac McCarthy's "The Road," and "The Walking Dead" to it. If you are a fan of any of those then you're going to surely like what we have planned for "Watch Over Me."

What's In It For You?

On the side of this page (like any other Indiegogo page) you'll see perks. Awards vary each time you donate. The higher the perk the better the prizes. While I know money is tight, the economy isn't exactly promising, and there are thousands upon thousands of campaigns vying for money and a big break to their production, myself, the cast, and the crew would be tremendously thankful for your generous donation.

Due to the nature of the film competition, most of the prizes will not be handed out till later. However, the cast and crew will be receiving DVDs of their work, this will meet its premiere date at the Z-Fest Film Festival, and in the latter run will be submitted to other festivals as well.

For the perks, you will receive what you had your eye on or pledged for on time. You will not go unhappy and with a T-shirt, button, or spiffy poster, we hope you'll take a picture for us to share, and spread your fandom and support for the movie like a wild fire getting the word out about our film before its premiere date, and we won't hope to see some of you at premiere night as well.

Well, I hope I have incentivized you to come back this project. We look forward to embarking on this journey with you.

Thanks for your time.
