Like many others, a costly medical condition has taken all we have. Our home is in the beginning process of foreclosure, and we have nowhere to turn. It was 12 years ago I began to lose pieces of my lung, followed by a heart condition, and now my eyes. It was the Opthalmologist who discovered I have an advanced form of Lupus-causing severe and perrmenant damage to my lungs, heart, eyes, and one kidney. Due to my young age of 31, I do not qualify for Disability benefits at this time. Since October I have been hospitalized 5 times due to complications of my Chemotherapy treatments. I've reached out to local organizations, but our small town does not offer help-we do not even have a food bank. I plan on making a documentary for others, dedicated to my daughter on the struggle of this brutal disease. I am given only years left with the damaged it caused, so I'd like to leave a documentary of my struggle before I am gone.
Since I am not the best writer in the world, I'd like to share with you a story that exactly describes life with Lupus: "The Spoon Theory" - http://www.butyoudontlooksick.com/navigation/BYDLS-TheSpoonTheory.pdf
If there anything information not posted or questions you may have, please contact me and I will be 'more' than happy to send anything further proving our situation, such as medical records or copies of statements and shut off notices.
What We Need
I am only asking the minimum allowed on Indiegogo, but we are iin need of a minimum of $1,000 for the mortgage. Currently, our utilites are also behind requiring an additional $1,000.
I am living every parents nightmare of being unable to provide even the basic of necessities for my child.
I am reaching out to anyone would be kind enough to donate. Any amount, even $1 would be a blessing.
With your generosity, you could help save our home.
