Hello Everyone!

We would like to thank everyone who took an interest in our project and supported us. We are happily announcing that we collected in $7,193 USD from 56 individuals.

Although the campaign only reached 12% of our goal, we will of course still be sending the Vision Sensor to all those who made an order. Also the SDK will be made available at the same time.

As for specific shipping dates, more detailed information will be sent directly through email in the near future.

It is greatly felt that the future of the game industry as well as the entire world will be completely altered by the invention of an inexpensive immersive HMD, and we very much owe appreciation to Oculus VR for developing such a fine product.

As for us, while working on AR (augmented reality), we came across a few problems that we believed if adjusted, would leave users even more satisfied. The biggest problems we encountered were that you couldn’t use your hands and the obstruction of the viewing angle. We were convinced that the Oculus Rift was the first major product to fix these inconveniences, and in doing so, had created an AR device that was more immersive than anything which has come before. We completed our prototype, and developed it to be used in conjunction with the Oculus Rift. Our new product is the "Vision Sensor for Oculus Rift DevKit"!


Regardless of how much we are able to collect during our fund raising effort, you can rest assured that all Vision Sensors purchased will be shipped and built to our contributors who have support us! 

Our parent company, Shinobiya.com Co., Ltd., plans on using the Vision Sensor in an amusement park maze built here in Japan. The goal of $60,000 is to help fund the construction of this attraction. Even if we don’t meet this monetary goal, we will be more than able to produce any amount of ordered units.

The high-speed image analysis capabilities of these cameras, enable your device to recognize hand movements in real-time. In this way, your fingers become an intuitive interface, replacing your keyboard and mouse. This now makes developing software for MR(Mixed Reality) with AR, a real possibility. The adding of real world space will create a brand new operating experience.

3. Regain Lost Vision

When wearing the Oculus Rift, your eyes are covered and it is impossible to see even nearby objects. So when you’re looking for something like your mouse or keyboard, you have to take off your goggles.
But now with the use of the Vision Sensor, you can be freed from the hassle of constantly putting on and taking off the Rift in order to see what’s in front of you. A simple swinging gesture from your hand in front of the camera will activate a sensor. With that easy movement, your current display will be replaced with a view of the real world.

Exclusive SDK Offer

C++、C#、Java, etc., are used as the main programming languages. With the included SDK, further development of image analysis and AR technology, as well as other functions, becomes simplified. The [Unity] plugin is supported, and does not require complex technical knowledge to operate. The Unity3D is easy to develop games, and anyone can easily program with it using our SDK.

A technical book is provided in order to give support to users. It is filled with explanations on the contents of research we have been working on. Specific explanations on image analysis and AR are given, as well as research results on what is possible and not possible to do with them. Even a person without any knowledge at all on image analysis technology or AR can get started immediately with our provided source code and its accompanying commentary.
