We are a group of vegan activists using our combined events planning, accounts & budgeting, media background, volunteer management and passions to do something we think would be wonderful for our community.
In order to go ahead with V in the Park 2018 we need some vegan love! Early contributors will make this event possible - even just by buying your ticket in advance! In return, you have your ticket for the festival reserved and regular updates on what to look forward to as they come. We think that with the size of the vegan community in Scotland we could have an amazing weekend filled with food, drinks, music and information on our lifestyle. This will not only be a lot of fun, but we hope it will also invite others that are not yet vegan to see a side of us that they sometimes don’t get to. We want to provide a safe, inclusive environment for everyone to come together and show how much fun it is to be cruelty-free.
Not only will early contributors be making our festival possible, they will be showing the non-vegan world how wonderful our community really is! In Scotland we already have an overabundance of vegan caterers, artists and businesses so we are spoiled for choice when it comes to having some of the best food and talent. We already know the festival will be a huge success based on the massive interest in indoor vegan festivals and events that currently operate in Scotland. If you share our confidence any donation - even the price of your ticket - will help us make all of this possible!
Thank you for taking the time to read our proposal and we look forward to partying with you in 2018!
Our goal is challenging but we aim to raise £15,000 in start up funds to get the event off the ground. Funding will be used for the following:
Securing an Ideal Location
The festival will take place on Cardross Estate, Port of Menteith. Just 45 minutes north of Glasgow it is super central and has enough space for us to grow in the future! The location is not only beautiful and convenient, but it is also dog friendly! So we look forward to meeting your furry friends! We will also be paying for storage space for the equipment to make the event as wonderful as we can!
Of course we imagine that our early contributors will want to share this event with friends and family over social media but as well as this we want to make sure as many people know about the weekend as possible! With funding we plan to advertise on a huge scale - unfortunately this costs serious cash! We will need adverts in vegan magazines and online, press releases, leaflets and posters - to name a few! Your contribution will help us reach out to those outwith the online vegan community to assure we have the most diverse, inclusive experience that we can provide.
We believe we have found the most idyllic location for our weekend but we understand that it is a little away from the mainstream! In order to make sure that no one misses out we will be providing busses from Stirling city centre to transport our guests and their equipment to the campsite. While at the moment we don’t have plans to provide busses from other Scottish cities, we would love to hear your feedback on expanding this to other cities depending on demand.
Guest speakers, musicians and comedians
We want this weekend to be truly memorable and provide the best quality entertainment for you. Your early contribution will allow us to arrange travel for guest speakers who may be donating their time for free. As well as this, we understand that some of the wonderful entertainers we would like to invite to the event cannot always donate their time (they have to make a living!) and so we would be able to cover these fees and secure the people we think will make the event wonderful! Another important cost may have to go to some of our guests accommodation - many of our speakers and entertainers will be traveling across the world to join us and so we want to ensure they are well rested to be able to party with us for the full weekend!
In order to provide the massive weekend that we have planned it’s going to be important to have all the tech to make it all run smoothly. This includes; stages, lighting, sound equipment and screens.
As we have already said, we want the whole family to have fun at this weekend. We plan on providing face painters and a tent devoted to family entertainment. The more funding we have - the more fun we can provide!
The beautiful location we have discovered is not currently set up with camping facilities - part of what makes it so lovely! We want to make this weekend as comfortable as possible and so we will use funding to provide eco-friendly toilets, outdoor lighting, power generators for campers and our vendors, rubber matting and WiFi boosters (the location doesn’t have signal and we don’t want you to miss out!).
While our little helpers will be donating their time to us out of the goodness of their hearts - we think it is the least we can do to cover some of their living/traveling costs for the weekend.
Waste Collection & Recycling Points
Boring stuff but it’s important for us to be looking after our mother earth!
More boring stuff but very important stuff! For a fun weekend it is important we make sure we are all safe and covered for all instances!
Unfortunately, in order for our event to go ahead there are local council fees and licenses that we need to pay for before we can do much else!
First Aid Provision
We know that you guys are responsible but sometimes accidents happen! To make sure everyone has peace of mind during the weekend we will cover the costs of on site first aiders to be constantly on site.
More stuff to make sure we have a fun, safe weekend - we will ensure we have adequate security for the whole weekend.
The little things add up! Wristbands, weekend programmes, signage for the campsite and more little details that will make our weekend perfect!
We are so grateful that you are looking to our weekend enough to buy your ticket already that we want to give something back!
If we can make anything over 70% of our target our event will still go ahead - even if it means making some cuts to our more ambitious plans! We will be working hard to secure some sponsorship deals with local vegan companies to make the event a success even if we have to restrict the budget a little. Basically, the more support we get the bigger and better our event can be!
We have already touched on what an impact this festival could be making on the vegan community, as well as the Scottish community in general, but we would like to take a moment to discuss the real impact of your contribution.
At the moment, the vegan movement is growing rapidly and we think this is amazing. We are moving towards a less cruel world and that is something we can all be proud of. At V in the Park 2018 we would like to celebrate this growth and hopefully show the world why our little community is growing so quickly.
We have already seen success in similar events in the UK and worldwide and we would love to bring this to Scotland! We want to bring all our little Scottish vegan communities together to show the world who we are.
We have set ourselves an ambitious goal and although we are confident we will achieve this, we want you to feel as confident as we do. If we can achieve 70% of our fundraising target, then our festival will still go ahead - even if we have to cut back a little.
This means that even if we do not reach our total we will still provide an amazing festival for our community with hopes to grow next year!
If you aren’t able to contribute right now, we totally understand! You can still support our event by sharing our campaign on social media, telling friends and family and just generally getting buzzed about it!
Use the share buttons at the top of the page to share this event with friends online and spread the word to any friends that might want to come eat, drink and dance with us!
