We designed Election Day: The Game because it shares the most exciting secrets of the political process and helps people understand how elections are won. Like any campaign, our game is 1 part chance and 2 parts strategy. But unlike most real life campaigns, our game is 100 percent fun! You don't have to be a political junkie, like us, to enjoy because it's easy to learn and captivating for most ages. Some games teach you about money, others about life. When you finish playing Election Day, you walk away ready to lead the world!
What's In The Box?
1 Election Day Game Board
2 numbered dice
1 Political Play die
15 Scandal Cards
15 Conventional Wisdom Cards
4 Candidate Pieces
4 Campaign Buses
Objectives: To win the game, your Campaign must get your Candidate onto the Ballot by acquiring three essential tools along the way. The first Candidate to reach the victory circle wins!
Election Day provides each player with a realistic experience of running for office, complete with the same fundraising pressure, unintended pitfalls, strategies such as targeting an opponent with negative ads or staying above the fray, and running a positive campaign.
What We Need
Our Campaign needs $11,000. Let me break it down for folks in more detail:
- $1,000 for Graphic design work
- $1,000 for testing
- $9,000 for manufacturing
According to more than 100 people who have played our game, the number ONE impact of Election Day is that it's fun! As we say in the political world, "all's fair in love and politics". When you sit down for a game, the gloves come off and it's a fast race to the finish line that demands a passionate call for round two!
Not surprisingly, the number TWO impact is that 100% of players found it to be an awesome introduction to the political campaign world. Even players who disdained politics were caught in the thrill of the game and walked away feeling like they could run their own campaigns successfully.
The game addresses questions that many voters believe are unanswered such as:
- Why do we have to see so many campaign ads?
- Why do politicians need to raise so much money?
- Are elections won by the wealthiest politicians?
- Why should I care about who wins?
- Does my vote really matter?
What Happens If We Surpass Our Goal?
The bottom line is every major innovation requires money. In order to really bring our game to the public in a respectable way, we are budgeting for illustrators, sculptors, and mold making for game pieces.
